Objective:  I can be introduced to the lens of New Historicism through reading "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge," and identify elements of it from the story.  
Agenda:
​
  • Entry Task:  Get out orange lit. book and sit at desk with your notebook ready.
  • Identify the New Historicism statements from "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" in the handout with evidence from the reading.
  • Cut and paste or hole punch the statements and get them into your notebook
  • Watch "Unlovable" by Babybird and illustrate the setting, realistic detail, and tone of the overall story.  
  • Glue your picture in your journal,  and choose a quote from the story that supports how you think Ambrose Bierce views war.
