Objective:  I can review what it means to read through a lens, our lenses of Transcendentalism and Dystopia, and I can draw from the "reaping bowl" the statement I will investigate to practice reading The Hunger Games through a lens.
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your journal and review what it means to read through a critical lens.  Answer what it means to read through a lens on your post-it.
    • Review Transcendental and Dystopia statements evidence sheets in your notebook.
    • What did we read to learn about Transcendentalism?
    • What did we read to learn about Dystopia?
    • On post-it:  Which lens would you read through now?  Why?
    • Accept your selection from the reaping bowl for the statement you will identify.
    • Complete 1 section of your reaping bowl ticket each time we watch.  It should be representative of the WHOLE movie, showing three different types of evidence.
  • Begin The Hunger Games
  • Exit Task:  Can you complete one piece of evidence today? If not, you must complete one at the beginning of the period tomorrow and one at the end.
