Objective:  I can initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions with diverse partners to uncover the “locks” to the characters, symbols, and places in The Alchemyst by building on others' ideas and expressing my own clearly (SL1).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get your Chromebook and sit with a partner. Share with your partner while you log in--What do you know about King Tut or Joan of Arc?
  • Read Author's Note p. 371-375 and see examples of -ology books.
  • You are embarking on a journey into the world of The Alchemyst. In this book you will be introduce to many characters and symbols along the way. Your journey begins now.
  • This page is your first test.
    • Work together to make your way through the characters to solve locks that will complete today's journey.
    • ​If you need them, here are some HINTS . . .
  • You will then choose of these characters for your project as you learn more about them on your journey through the reading.
  • Exit Task:  Submit your responses and discuss with your partner which character, symbol, or setting was most intriguing to you.
