Objective:  I can present information with supporting evidence, conveying a clear perspective so that my peers can understand a mythology other than Greek (SL4).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Sit facing the screen and review your project rubric.  Grab a Chromebook and joinpd.com. Wait for the code if it is not on the screen.
  • Presentations will be completed in this order as seen in the Monster Webquest
    • Japanese
    • African
    • Australian
    • Iroquois
    • Hawaiian
    • Norse
    • Aztec
    • Egyptian
  • If group members are missing, they will be responsible for making up their presentation during access time as long as their absence is excused.  Until then, the assignment will remain a 0.  
  • You will lose your group work points if you are disruptive to someone else's presentation.  
  • Exit Task:  Share tell one member from another group what a good job they did presenting today.

Objective:  I can begin to complete my slides in my group's mythology presentation, and I know the seriousness of citing my sources and understand how to meet the expectations of the group presentation rubric, so I do not plagiarize (W9-10.7-9).
Agenda: 
  • Entry Task:  Sit with your group members. Get your computer on your way your seat.
  • Review the expectations for Works Cited in your Group Presentation Rubric
    • Explain your understanding of these to your group
    • Check in on where you are at for Group Work on the rubric
  • Make sure that you have added YOUR Works Cited to the last slide of your group presentation.  Remember, you will get no credit for this assignment if YOUR work is not cited.  
  • FINISH the parts you selected for the  presentation (gods and heroes, creation, existence, death & seasons, and monsters).
  • PRACTICE your part with your group--read through at least once.  
  • Exit Task: TURN IN your Google Slides to Google Classroom.

  • Review the expectations for Presentation Engagement in your Group Presentation Rubric
    • Explain your understanding of these to your group
    • Check in on where you are at for Group Work on the rubric
  • In Google Slides "Add-On" Pear Deck
  • Add 3 RELEVANT and APPROPRIATELY PLACED slides in your presentation.  Decide as a group, who will include these--you must have 3.
  • Continue to complete the parts you selected for the  presentation (gods and heroes, creation, existence, death & seasons, and monsters); you are ALL responsible for adding your Works Cited to the last slide and ensuring it stays in alphabetical order.  
  • Exit Task:  The last 10 min., share your progress with your group to practice talking about your slides in front of a small group.

Objective:  I know the seriousness of citing my sources and understand how to meet the expectations of the group presentation rubric, so I do not plagiarize (W9-10.7-9).
Agenda: 
  • Entry Task:  Stand at the mythology (or monster) you were most intrigued by when we did the Monster Webquest.  Based on the numbers of people in each group, divide into groups of 3-4. If you find yourself alone, you will need to move to your second favorite.  Consider the expectations for group work we have reviewed throughout the unit and ask yourself if this a group you can be successful in.
    • Sit with your group members at the desks or station nearest to you.  Get your computer on your way your seat
  • Review the expectations for Claim, Cite, Clarify and Works Cited in your Group Presentation Rubric
    • Explain your understanding of these to your group
  • Open the Plagiarism Contract in Google Classroom and follow along to the prezi, filling in the blanks.  
  • Practice using the Explore Tool in the last page of the Plagiarism Contract
    • Print your contract to 220 and be prepared to sign them when they are brought to you and TURN IN the assignment.
  • Using any remaining time, decide as a group, who is doing which parts of the presentation (gods and heroes, creation, existence, death & seasons, and monsters); you are ALL responsible for adding your Works Cited to the last slide and ensuring it stays in alphabetical order.  
  • Exit Task:  Begin your research until time is called to put your Chromebook away.

Objective:  I can  make strategic use of digital media (textual, graphical, audio, visual, and interactive elements) in presentations to enhance understanding of findings, reasoning, and evidence and to add interest (SL5).
Agenda:  
  • Entry Task:  Get your Chromebook and sit where you can see the big screen.  Follow the directions on the slideshow shown on the screen.
    • As the Mythology Presentation Directions are shown to you, complete the interactive slides provided by Pear Deck.  This is one way you will make your presentation to the class more interactive as well.  
  • When we are finished, look closely at the Group Presentation Rubric and consider if you have questions about how you will earn your goal grade on this project.  
  • Exit Task:  If time, we will select groups for the projects; otherwise, put away your Chromebooks.

Objective:  I can develop and strengthen writing by revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience (W5).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get your Chromebook and sit where you are not going to be distracted; log in to your Chromebook and go to Google Classroom.
  • ​Using your drafts so far, write your final draft
    • Review the SBA rubric at the bottom of the draft and self-assess your work by commenting on each score you would give yourself before you submit.  
  • Exit Task:  When you are finished, turn in your assignment to Google Classroom; you may read if you finish early.  If you do not finish, you can continue to work on it on your own, at lunch, or during access time, but it will be scored as is until you make changes.

Objective:  I can develop and strengthen writing by revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience (W5).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get your Chromebook and sit where you are not going to be distracted; log in to your Chromebook and go to Google Classroom.
  • Open the Introduction and Conclusion assignment
    • 20  min. Go over the directions for the introduction, and complete Step 1-3
      • ​Peer edit or work on your body paragraph if you are done before time is up
    • 20 min. Go over the directions for the conclusion and complete Step 4-6
      • ​If you are ready, begin your final draft; review the SBA rubric at the bottom of the draft and know that you will need to self-assess your work before you submit.  
  • Exit Task:  Find a good place to stop in your edits--if you did not finish, you should work on this at home, during lunch, or at access time.
