Objective:  I can see how the central ideas (big ideas) that appear throughout Shakespeare's life also appear in various literature types, and I will begin to analyze their development throughout the reading, in my own life, and other forms of literature (RL2).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task: Please take out your Big Idea Map and any examples you brought; complete the anticipation guide
  • Today we will continue examining the Big Ideas we saw in Shakespeare's life and what we will see in Romeo & Juliet.
    • Over break, it was your job is to think about these Big Ideas and look for them in the different forms of literature you enjoyed while you were away.
    • Today you will have more time to do this while examining the items I gathered over break.
    • We will discuss these to see how we encounter each of these big ideas throughout our lives.
  • We will then begin to discuss your final project for this unit: The Romeo & Juliet Big Idea Book. While we read the play, you will choose a Big Idea to focus on and complete various activities to compile your project.
  • Exit Task:  You should have your Big Idea book set up and be narrowing down your selection for a Big Idea.
