Objective:   I know the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a variety of literature, and  can analyze the cumulative impact  on meaning and tone (like how the devices evoke a sense of time and place; how it sets a formal or informal tone) (RL4).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Organize your Guided Notes into your notebook and prepare to fill them in.
    • Take notes from Cinematic Techniques
    • View the original film clips and the horror version
      • How does the style changes change the film genre?
    • Make note of the Cinematic Techniques in your guided notes, using the Cheat Sheet to help understand the examples shown
  • Exit Task:  Think of one of your favorite films you have seen many times. Write down the title. Review the cheat sheet of Cinematic Techniques. Explain how your selected film uses 2-3 of the techniques by describing specific scenes to someone who has never seen the film before.  Try to use character names and your best figurative language to make the scenes come to life for the reader.
