Objective:  I can review the poetry work we have completed to investigate my favorite author, poem, and my favorite personal writing then I can show my understanding through reviewing the terms and examples
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your notebook and take four post-its.  Follow the directions below as you review your work for the next 20 min.
    • 5 min. With your first post-it, go through all of the poets and determine which was your favorite.  On the first post-it, write what you like about his or her life that helps you admire him or her.  If you have any missing components of the banners, you should finish them now.
    • 5 min. With your second post-it, go through all of the poems that we read in class and determine which was your favorite.  On the second post-it, write which device the author used and how it impacted the style of the poem.  If you have any missing components of the poetry work, you should finish them now.
    • 5 min. With your third post-it, go through all of the "You Try Its" you completed and determine which was your favorite.  You may tear this post-it in 1/2 if you have two (or a picture and a poem).  For your website, you will include 2 poems (they can both be from your "You Try Its" or you may also use your Bio poem for one of the poems).  If you have any missing components of the "You Try Its," you should finish them now.
    • 5 min. With your fourth post-it, go through all of the songs we listened to and determine which was your favorite.  On the fourth post-it, write which device(s) the artist used and how it impacted the style of the song.
    • 5 min. Take time to finish any pieces you still do not have completed.
  • Get ready to replay Kahoot! Alternatively, you make take the Quizlet version of the test if you would prefer to not play the game (sign up for Quizlet here).  Either way, you need to show your understanding of the devices we have learned thus far.  Either way, your score will be replaced.
  • Exit Task:  Consider the score you earned on the Kahoot! or Quizlet.  If you are still not proud of your score, you will have one final in-class chance to show your understanding of the terms next week.
