Objective:  I can consider my ideals for myself and a partner to gain insight into our society and social expectations in comparison with those of the past.
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  MC #1 & 2
    • Sit in a space where you can "create," and get out the type of drawing tool you prefer (crayons, colored pencils, markers)
  • Create your perfect partner including hobbies, education-level, profession, economic power, emotions/communication, personality, and family structure.
  • Create your perfect self including hobbies, education-level, profession, economic power, emotions/communication, personality, and family structure.
  • Both need to be complete and ready to be used tomorrow during class.  DO NOT spend too much time on the image (this is not a time for perfectionism!), but do make sure that details are apparent including clothing, hair, skin, etc.
  • Exit Task:  Share what you LOVE about your partner and yourself with your elbow partner.

Objective:  I can be (re)aquainted with the expectations for AP Literature and can process what it means to not "read with your eyes" or believe in a single story.
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Pick up your work from last semester off the table, please, and grab a Chromebook.  You will also need your notebook.  Pass the song list around.
  • Review expectations in your notebook for Habits of Mind and Skills to Target.
    • Have your +/- changed?  Have you improved on those you highlighted?
    • Based on these, consider what your goal is for this semester, and write it along the top of the next blank page in your notebook, labeled SEMESTER 2.
  • Share our winners!
  • In the Chromebook,  go to www.literaturewithleonetti.com and find the deepening assignment options.
    • Review options and email me your idea(s) for this semester telling me why you are interested in this option, or create your own description if none of these appeal to you.  You may not complete the same assignment this semester as last semester.
  • Re-read annotations from Don't Read with Your Eyes
    • Watch The Danger of a Single Story and add to your annotations/answer the question below.
  • Exit Task:  How do Don't Read with Your Eyes and The Danger of a Single Story connect to the work we are doing in AP Literature?  Use at least one reading from last semester to explain your thinking.
  • Homework:  Read our new multiple-choice selection and complete #1
