Objective:  We know what Gothic literature entails and can compare Gothic elements between the novels, Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, or Pride and Prejudice, that we are reading (RL11-12.1).  
Agenda:

• Entry Task:  Sit next to a partner who is reading a different book than you.  Get out your Gothic Characteristics sheet from our last class.
  
• Going back and forth, share with your partner how your book shows each of the characteristics
  
  • Put a star in any of the characteristics they have in common
    
• Determine three characteristics that are similar and create a black and white image that shows both of your books’ traits.  
  
  • Fill the space on the page with images
    
  • Label the images with supporting quotations
    

Exit Task:  How do your books compare?  Is one more Gothic than the other.  Explain on your drawing what you learned about Gothic Literature and how it impacts the overall tone of the novels.  Hang your image in the classroom and turn in your characteristics sheet.
