Objective: I know that writing a passage prompt utilizes the same format as a poem or open-choice prompt and can apply my skills to practice outlining my ideas about the passage provided (W11-12.4).
Agenda:

• Entry Task:  What are the three trigger phrases? Review Essay Graphic for structure and trigger phrases. 
  
• Review Micro-Essay Expectations
  
  • On the AP Test, you could get an excerpt from something you have read; you still can only write about what you are given.
    
  • Select from passage on Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, or Pride and Prejudice
    
    • For one of the practices, you must write on your own novel to see if you can stick to just the passage!
      
• Read the prompt and annotate the passage
  
• Complete the “musts” of the micro-essay: 
  
  • Opening Sentence
    
  • Thesis Statement
    
  • ONE body section (at least)
    
  • Concluding Statement
    

Exit Task:  Make sure your name is on your outline, staple it to the prompt, and put it in the box for safe-keeping.
