I like how you used an anthropomorphism. "Windows gasp for air" and you keep adding to it this was really good.

I really love how you shaped your poem with each line getting shorter to convey your message about how the rain is very calming.

I liked how the structure of your poem was well thought out. I enjoyed how you used the word "she" as the rain. I also liked how your tone of the poem reminded me of rain.

My favorite line in the final poem was: "Windows gasp for air wallowing in the tears she provides them." The personification of the window provided a really unique description of a sight we have all seen plenty of times. You used this style throughout the poem, and I feel that it elevated the meaning of rain. I also like how you spoke in first person, that made it more personal.

I adore your use of structure! You cleverly made the sentences gradually grow shorter in length throughout the length of the poem, adding the effect of simpler ideas as the character in the poem's mind calms.

Mar! This is so good! I absolutely love the layout and color scheme you chose for the project. Within the rain poem, the unique use of structure was so pleasing to read. The intense imagery used to describe the feelings and express your tone was excellent and well done in my opinion!

The IdeaWhile we can't share in the traditional sense, we certainly can spend time appreciating the art of poetry through the projects our peers have created. Please give each project the thoughtful viewing it deserves, then comment on three of your favorites utilizing poetic devices to explain what you like about their project. Comments might look something like, "Wow! I love your use of imagery and simile. They really help me experience the solemn attitude you are creating in your poem," or "Hey! Billy Collins has become one of my favorite poets too; I love his sarcastic attitude and use of imagery as you have revealed here," or "I'm impressed with how creatively you were able to showcase the melancholy tone of "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" as revealed by Emily Dickinson." Please explore projects like and unlike yours and practice describing what it that you like about what you see. The project that earns 100% and has the most comments will earn a prize! Categories
