Objective: I can cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of my selected reading (RL11-12.1) and clarify the meaning of unknown words by using them to describe the text and visuals (L11-12.4).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Pick up the  Visual Texts 1-Pager, and find a seat with your text on the table.
    • Take a moment to answer the Entry Task questions on the sheet (today, you are only answering number 2).
  • This is your LAST one-pager; as such, make sure your analysis for #7 reflects all that you have read up to this point (even if you haven't completed the book)
  • Review expectations of what reading time looks like
  • 25 min. Sustained Silent Reading of your selected text
Exit Task:  Complete your one-pager thoroughly and thoughtfully; what can you incorporate into your own project?

Objective: I can develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning how I will meet the expectations for my selected visual text option (W11-12.5).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your work plan and any materials you need in order to complete what you have planned for Day 4.
    • Review expectations for work plan days.
  • Use your time to develop your ideas.  If plans change, it simply needs to be explained in your reflection for the day.
Exit Task:  During the last 10 min. I will come around and check your progress for today’s participation; you should be cleaning up and reflecting during this time.  Do not put your work plan and evidence away until they have been checked.

Objective: I can integrate information into my visual text selectively to maintain the flow of ideas, avoiding plagiarism and overreliance on any one source and following a standard format for citation (W11-12.8).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get your file folder from the drawer.  Review your score on the last 6 questions about MLA format on the Retakeable Grammar Test.
    • Go over the questions associated with that part of the test
  • What are the answers?  Review MLA Presentation if we cannot answer as a class.
  • Why will we need to cite our sources in the projects we have planned?  How have we already started to do so with the work we have done?
  • Open your research investigation and review the comments on your citations.  Make edits if you have not used Google Explore correctly
  • Review the directions for the work plan
    • Use the project options and rubric to plan out how you will complete your project in the 6 class days provided.
Exit Task:  When you are finished, have your teacher check your work plan and make sure that all elements of the rubric are incorporated--especially Works Cited and Citations!
