Objective:  I can participate effectively in teacher-led discussions in order to get my questions answered about the play as well as building on others’ ideas while expressing my own clearly and persuasively (SL11-12.1)
Agenda:
  • Entry Task: Sit at the group assigned to your lens and review the expectations on the Group Work Rubric.  Make sure you have your lens annotations with you.
  • Share the questions found in your group by passing them around.  You will write your answer to these questions on the shared construction paper.
  • Participate in the small group chalk talk by giving thorough and thoughtful answers to the questions related to your lens.
    • Round 1:  Take 10 min to read and answer the question closest to you-without talking; more than one person can be writing on the same construction paper if necessary
    • Round 2:  Pass the questions/answers around the group. Take 5 min. to read and respond to someone else’s answer to a different question that you answered.
    • Round 3:  Repeat round 2 with the next question.
    • Round 4:  Repeat round 2 with the last question.
    • Round 5:  Review the question you originally answered and read the responses.
  • When you are finished, add to your lens annotations, so you can keep the most important ideas that came up in your group.
  • Exit Task:  Review your rubric and self-assess on how you did in your group; complete the reflection and turn in.  Make sure to keep your annotations in your notebook.
