Objective:  I can write routinely over extended time frames for a range of tasks, purposes and audiences (W11-12.10).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Take a walk to look at our plot summary of “There Will Come Soft Rains;” complete your group work self-assessment, comparing your completed work to the other groups.  Turn in.
  • This reading taught us how to apply multiple lenses to one reading.  We will continue to look for evidence of these lenses in Station 11 by Emily St. John Mandel.  Take a look at the student-made book trailer and explain how you think this book connects to the work we have done so far in your notebook.
  • Read the summary for Station 11 and complete the Quickwrite in your notebook
    • Once per week we will write routinely in order to develop our ideas around this topic.  You will turn it in regularly to get feedback in order to produce your best writing by the end of the reading.
    • All of the work that we do while reading is potential evidence for your writing.
  • We will also work to improve our vocabulary by playing and testing from vocabulary.com using words from the novel and some of the other readings we have done.
  • Exit Task:  Get out your Chromebook and play our first round from vocabulary.com.  Take your list home to study, or you can study from the website.
