Objective:   I can come to discussions prepared, having read and researched material under study; explicitly draw on that preparation by referring to evidence from texts and other research on the topic or issue to stimulate a thoughtful, well-reasoned exchange of ideas (SL11-12.1a).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your Socratic Seminar packet and review or finish any answers you did not complete yesterday about our previous readings.
  • Review the questions from the chalk talk as the lens (critical analysis) for our reading.
  • We have read several challenging texts together.  Now, you will read an informational text about our topic.
    • Complete the reading using any of the strategies that have worked for you and answer the questions that follow.
Exit Task:  Last 15-20 min., work with a partner to finish the questions--between you and your partner, decide who will be on the inner vs. outer circle first.
