Objective:  I can use a variety of techniques to sequence events so that they build on one another to create a coherent whole and build toward a particular tone and outcome (W11-12.3c).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Review your Biography Interview--look at your family members--do you have a storyteller among them?  Are there stories that are retold over and over? Jot down a few ideas about stories that are familiar to you.
  • Take notes on plot definition from prezi
  • Use the plot diagram to outline a family story that has been told and retold.  A memoir can be biographical or autobiographical. The memoir you attempt today can be either about you or someone you know well.  Consider these options, but these are just suggestions:
    • Those stories told during the holidays
    • Legends of infamous ancestors
    • Great Grandpa’s war stories
    • Your family’s immigration history
    • Embarrassing stories of you as a kid
    • Feel free to embellish--don’t have a favorite story?  Write the one you wish you did!
  • Exit Task:  If you are invested in your story, begin to write it out in your journal--this is one of your options to submit for this unit!
