Objective:  I can use technology to give and receive feedback on our reviews in order to test the effectiveness of our review on a like-minded audience and enhance my review before the final draft (W11-12.6)
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your Chromebook and open your review.  Then, be ready to listen for next steps (Chromebooks should be closed).
  • You will share your review with your Biography Interview partner.  Review the objective for the reason we are sharing.
  • Review the expectations and steps for sharing.
    • Expectations:
      • Share the document via email by clicking on the blue “share” button.
      • Type in your partner’s name; their email address will appear.
      • Go to your email and click on Shared with Me on the far left.
      • Open your partner’s review
      • Under the share button, click on the pencil icon and select “suggesting”
        • In this mode, you can make edits and your partner can determine whether or not they agree by clicking on the ✓ or x.
    • Steps:
      • Read the review as a whole and comment on its effectiveness overall:
        • My favorite part of your review was . . . but . . . could use work.
        • You did a great job with . . .; I think you still need to spend time on . . .
        • I see that your review isn’t complete, but the . . . is a good idea.  Maybe you could add to it by . . .
        • Because of your review I would (not) want to purchase . . . because you make it seem . . .
      • Mark a score on the rubric for each of the criteria, explaining WHY they earned that score.  Your partner should be able to use the rubric to improve their review--if you just put a check, this will not help them make edits.
      • If you have time, you can help your partner with any grammatical issues in their writing.  Make sure you are in suggesting mode for this!
  • Exit Task:  When you and your partner are done making suggestions, share your feedback with one another.  Raise your hand when you are sharing for teacher input. If you have extra time, you can begin to make edits to your own work
