CW Daily Objective and Agenda

Objective:  I can perfect the draft of my review based on the feedback from my peer, focusing on what is necessary for an effective review and who my audience will be for what I have selected to review (W11-12.5).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task: Get out your Chromebook and open your review from Google Classroom.  Get out your rubric from your partner.  
    • Consider which component would be the best place to start for the most effective edits.
  • Make edits and revisions to your review.  If necessary go back to the resources we have used throughout:
    • Example winning student review
    • Reading Model Times Reviews
    • “Advice on How to Write a Review by Three New York Times Critics”
  • When you think you are finished, raise your hand for teacher feedback.  Be prepared to make edits.
  • If you are finished with the above and the below, use this time to work on one of the following:
    • Your story (due no later than Dec. 19th)
    • Your Bio Poem (remember you must turn in either a poem OR a story from this unit—there will be more options to come in the next two weeks)
    • Found Poetry or Stories for your anthology (review rubric)
    • An Extension—if you choose to do one of these it is worth 100 assessment points and is due January 27 
  • Exit Task:  Once you have been teacher-approved, you can begin to create the components for your poster by making a copy of your review.
    • In the copy, give your review a title in a unique, legible font.
    • Change your font-size, 14-18, so it will fit on one poster, but it is also legible from farther away.
    • Add an image of what it is that was reviewed.  
    • Share with your teacher for color copies.
