Objective:  I can review the definitions of literary devices in order to begin to identify and utilize them in my reading and writing (L11-12.4).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  What are some of your favorite “tricks” that authors use in stories or novels that you read.  Can you think of any stories that employ particularly unique devices?
    • Share out ideas--consider: how do these devices add to the story?  What would happen without them?
    • If any stories came up that you particularly enjoyed, you may add one to your bracket--remember to use a pencil--you may find that you replace stories or move them around within the bracket as we read.
  • Throughout our literature work we will define, identify, and utilize literary devices in order to better connect throughout own reading and writing.
    • Copy and paste the Quizlet list into your journal and review the terms; you can practice on your own using the Quizlet set online
    • Play Kahoot! to review terms
  • Exit Task:  Literary Devices pretest; your score will be replaced each time we retake the test
