Objective:  I can determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact and build on one another to produce a complex analysis, as well as an objective summary, of the text (RL11-12.2).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your independent reading book and your  Book Brochure
  • Work quietly to complete your brochure.  Feel free to use a Chromebook to use Sparknotes or Shmoop to help with your brochure.
    • Your lens questions will be read closely in order to check your comprehension of the reading.
Exit Task:  Turn in your brochure.

  • Entry Task:  Get out the evidence sheet and the bookmarks and a chromebook for later.
  • Read the descriptions of each of the symbols on the bookmarks.  
    • Review your Ch. 43-44 reading comprehension
  • Use the bookmarks to mark evidence as you follow along to the reading of Ch. 45-47 (38:08 min.)
    • During reading, complete 45-47 reading comprehension
  • After the reading, retake Vocabulary Test 2 if you haven't yet.  
Exit Task:  Put away the books with the bookmarks in the envelope tucked in the front of the book on the cart.

Objective:  I can develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience (W11-12.5) while demonstrating command of conventions (L11-12.2).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Pick up your Chromebook and get out your CCC Rubric
    • Review CCC Rubric and your score on your CCC Revision in Google Classroom
  • As we have progressed through the novel, you have been following two themes, at this point, you have narrowed your interest down to one.  
  • Take a close look at which theme you selected to write on for your CCC Revision
    • Complete either Art Theme Check or Individual survival
    • Type the paragraph following the format that you created in your CCC Revision--if you have not earned all 3s, turn it in for feedback.
  • Exit Task:  Begin to think about how you can transition from one paragraph into the next.  These will become your body paragraphs for your essay.

  • 25 min. sustained, silent reading--no phones, no talking, books open and reading--even if you are following along to an audio.  Phone must be in your pocket for this purpose.
  • After reading add to your Book Brochure.  This is due at the end of the period next Friday.

    • Grammar Mini-lesson

      • If you need to make changes, you may do so and resubmit for an updated score
      • If you don’t, you have a good model for your body paragraphs for you final assessment for Station Eleven
  • As we have progressed through the novel, you have been following two themes, at this point, you have narrowed your interest down to one.  
  • Take a close look at which theme you selected to write on for your CCC Revision, based on that, begin to complete either Art Theme Check or Individual survival
  • Exit Task:  If your CCC meets your expectations, print it out; give both it and your work on the theme checks to me to go in your assessment folder.
