Objective:  I can determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact and build on one another to produce a complex analysis, as well as an objective summary, of the text (RL11-12.2).
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Please grab a sheet off the front table and begin cutting it and gluing it into your notebook. Also grab 4 different colored pencils or highlighters.
  • Today we will go over critical-analysis lenses to prepare for your Dystopian Book Brochure.
    • Please read the description of critical-analysis and highlight for evidence of the four statements at the center of your sheet, please use 4 different colors. 
    • Once you have reviewed the concept of critical-analysis, read through the three lens options and choose the best option to read your book through. You will select some lens questions to explore as part of your dystopian book project: Dystopia Book Brochure. Take some time to see what is being asked of you in this brochure. 
  • Please use any remaining class time to begin/continue your choice dystopia. 
  • Exit Task:  Create a reading plan for your book on your book brochure. Then pack everything away and clean up around you.
