Objective:  I can begin to develop my ideas around what I want to do after graduation by narrowing my options to those I can work with to move forward.
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Jot what you want to do after high school on the board, no name necessary, it can be as specific as English Teacher/University of Idaho or as broad as Armed Forces, “I don’t know” is even acceptable, but make sure you are represented on the board.  Back at your seat, make sure you have a highlighter or light colored marker ready with the flowchart.
  • As the flowchart is presented, highlight the options that apply to you--do not fill in until the whole chart has been explained.
  • Work through the flowchart on your own.  Where applicable, stop and complete the attached links.  You need to complete the paper copy, but an electronic copy is in Google Classroom for you to quickly access the links there.
    • You may attach your career test results, resume, or cover letter to the above assignment as a place for you to quickly access them.
  • Extension Activity: Read Ch. 10 of The Element by Sir Ken Robinson, “For Love or Money” and answer the attached questions in the PowerPoint if you are struggling with the idea of what to do with your interests vs. your talents after high school.
  • Exit Task:  Complete the flowchart and add to your research file folder provided by your teacher. Put your name on the tab and file it alphabetically in the file cabinet.
