Objective:  I am organized with my outline, research, portfolio, and cover letter, so that I can utilize them to engage in a practice interview as well as in real-life scenarios like applying for college, requesting letters of recommendation, and/or applying for a job.
Agenda:
  • Entry Task:  Get out your portfolio and sit with the partner assigned to you on the board
  • Review the Speaking and Listening Rubric
  • Introduce yourself to your partner as if you were meeting them for the first time
  • Share with them your answers to these questions
    • Partner, your job is not to write down everything they say but to listen attentively as shown in the rubric.  You may use this sheet to make note of any positive feedback or questions you think they should clarify when asked these questions in the future.
    • Feel free to use your outline, cover letter, or resume as reference
  • Once you have both completed this process, complete the speaking and listening rubric for yourself and attach your feedback/responses from your partner.
  • If you discover that you are missing some part of the portfolio while you are sharing your answers, this is your last in-class chance to work on them.
  • Exit Task:  Turn in your whole folder with the questions and the speaking and listening rubric.
